What you get with MacGrid is a clear plastic screen that measures 8½ × 12 inches. On the screen are 54 rectangular boxes, 9 rows and 6 columns. Each box is identified with a letter and number. You also get a disk with the same grid that can be copied onto your MacPaint disk. You can move to any section of the grid using the Show Page function within MacPaint. By drawing on the clear plastic grid, or by placing the plastic over a drawing, you can approach the transposition of a drawing from paper to MacPaint— box by box — rather than at screen level.
