Released late in 1988, Aldus FreeHand 2.0 was a milestone release from it's predecessor, FreeHand 1.0 (also released earlier that same year). Improving on the features of FreeHand 1.0, FreeHand 2.0 added a floating tools palette, flexible fill patterns, Pantone colors, stroked text, import graphics from other programs. It also added accurate control over a color monitor screen display, limited only by its resolution.
Top DL: US English, version 2.0 (full install set, DiskDup+, MacZip)
2nd DL: US English, version 2.0 (full install set, Disk Copy 4.2, StuffIt)
Installed and tested OK¹ on Basilisk II (System 7.1) and Mini vMac (Mac II emulation), Systems 6.0.8 and 7.1
Read Me docs recommend SSW 6.0.2 or later. This may run on later (than 7.1) Mac OS's but not tested by this user.
Note:¹ I encountered errors with installing under 6.0.8 and 7.1 (on Mini vMac), where the installer Quits on Install disk one - see error message, screenshot 4, above.
However, it creates on your HD a folder named "Aldus FreeHand 2.0" and installs all necessary files from the "Install" disk into that folder. Simply copy the contents from the remaining mounted disk images; "Portfolio" and "Program" into the installed FreeHand 2.0 folder, and you are good to go.
I don't know if the same errors would be encountered on actual hardware (I think it's expecting actual floppy disk insertion), but if they do its not fatal.
