ShowImage.sit_.hqxVariously referred to as the Magic Digitizer, Magic Video Digitizer, or New Image Magic, this hardware/software package captured 1-bit monochrome stills from a connected video camera or player. The user could adjust brightness, contrast, and patterns to extract more detail from the grayscale input.
In a 1985 comparison, Macworld found the competing Koala MacVision to provide the fastest, easiest, and smoothest-looking digitization of video frames, although the Magic software offered the most control over pattern selection.
